The traditional lands of Acho Dene Koe in the Northwest Territories, British Columbia and Yukon have supported our people for millenniums.

With approximately 18,741 sq. kilometers in the Northwest Territories, 10,721 sq. kilometers in Yukon and 14,245 sq. kilometers in British Columbia, Acho Dene Koe territory is rich in minerals, oil, gas, water, wildlife and other natural resources.

Legal certainty to the 60˚ border of Yukon was only achieved in 1955-6, when the Dominion Survey mapped the BC-Yukon boundary. Previously, the lands that Acho Dene Koe claims were not technically in what is now Yukon or British Columbia.

As a result, Acho Dene Koe is currently pursuing separate land claims in the Northwest Territories, British Columbia and Yukon.
