Traditional knowledge is an invaluable asset for Acho Dene Koe First Nation.

Through centuries of land use, living off of the land, and engaging in activities like trapping, hunting, and harvesting, ADK members have developed deep knowledge of the natural world. This includes, among other things, seasonal animal migration patterns, identification of plants, familiarity with animal tracks and behaviours, how to sustainably use animals and plants, and the history and impacts of industrial activities on the land.

Acho Dene Koe First Nation is actively engaged in preserving the traditional knowledge held among its members, and celebrating this unique relationship with the natural world.
