Bill C-15, the Northwest Territories Devolution Act, received Royal Assent on March 25, 2014. As such, a number of changes to the Mackenzie Valley Resource Management Act, Northwest Territories Waters Act and Territorial Lands Act have come into effect.
Among these are changes to the time limits surrounding public hearings, reports, and decisions for proposals; the life span of project licenses issued, Ministerial policy direction, Board members, and fines.
